What are Eurail & Interrail train reservations?
With your Interrail or Eurail pass you can hop on nearly every single train within Europe. However, some trains do require additional costs on top of your pass. This is called a seat reservation or supplement. Usually luxurious trains, international trains, High-Speed trains and Night-Trains require this additional ticket. The sole reason for having such a reservation or supplement is that you will have an assigned seat on the train, for the whole duration of your journey. Which is extremely convenient on long-time journeys, because who want’s to get awaken during the night by other travelers claiming their seat or bed? Now I can understand that additional costs scare you away.. but don’t be afraid! With your pass you only have to pay a minor fee for claiming your spot on these trains.
