Bar, an amazing pretty town in the south of Montenegro. It is located on the Adriatic Sea and has international connections to all neighbouring countries, including over-seas! The capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, is much bigger than Bar. However, the only thing you should see of Podgorica is the railway station while passing through. Lake Skadar is an amazing place in Europe. Did you know that it is the largest lake within the whole Balkan? Surrounded by mountains and the occassional monastary makes this place picture perfect. The Belgrade-Bar Railway is one of the most spectacular railways within the world. It takes the train around 11 hours to cover the tracks between Belgrade and Bar. Meanwhile the scenery is absolutely mindblowing. Endless amounts of mountains, canyons, tunnels and bridges. According to Seat61 there are a total of 254 tunnels and 435 bridges. Don’t plan any tight connections in either Belgarde or Bar, because the train is frequently delayed. Only take the day-train and not the Night-Train, which leaves at 09:00 sharp from both directions.
