Soon the Bosphorus rail tunnel will open, which will allow for through services in both continents. From Istanbul you can now directly reach Sofia (Bulgaria) and Bucharest (Romania). From Bucharest there are connections all the way to Hungary, Moldova and Ukraine, and from Sofia there are connections inwards Greece and Serbia. Within Turkey you can reach places accross the whole country – and even travel towards the borders with Armenia, Georgia and Iran.
